Day 1: Pick Up for City Tour – Volcanoes National Park
Early morning pick up from the hotel and we transfer you for a city tour and visit the local markets, art and craft shops, Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and later transfer to Volcanoes National Park driving through a beautiful country side and a home to the mountain gorillas. Overnight in your Hotel.
Day 2: Dian Fossey Hike or Bisoke Hike
Have an early morning breakfast and then proceed to the park headquarters take a hike to the Karisoke Research Center for a visit to the Dian Fossey Tombs. Along the way, you may come across some primates such as the black and white Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, L’hoests monkeys, and some bird species, after you will back to your hotel for overnight.
Day 3: Caves and Twin lakes
Early in the morning, we will back to the park to explore the Musanze caves. After we go to visit twin lakes before embarking on a transfer to Kigali to Kigali for overnight.
Day 4: Kigali to Akagera National Park
After the break breakfast, we head to the impressive Akagera National Park, comprised of a blend of wetland, savannah and woodland. The location of the park shows that it lies at a lower altitude as compared to rest of the country, therefore meaning that it is not only warmer but drier. Some of the wildlife you will see here include: Giraffes, Buffalos and Elephants as well as a profusion of birds. If fortunate, we may be able to sight at the Shoebill Stork, especially around the shores of the lake. Overnight in the park lodge.
Day 5: Akagera National Park
We shall have yet another day of adventure within the park. Akagera is run by the African Parks Network, and offers game drive along the ancient tracks from the south until the north of the Park. In the afternoon hours’ drive back to Kigali. Overnight in Kigali.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, go to Bugesera for visiting the Ntarama and Nyamata Genocide in the afternoon back to Kigali for the last souvenirs shopping and go to the airport for departure.
