Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport – Transfer to the hotel

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide, who will brief you on your 5 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking. Afterward, you will be transferred to your booked hotel in Kampala and  settle in and enjoy dinner, followed by an overnight stay.

Day 2: Entebbe to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, depart Kampala for an exciting drive through the scenic landscapes of Uganda. Your journey will take you through papyrus swamps and the lush jungles of the Nile Delta, heading toward Kibale National Park, located just below the majestic Ruwenzori Mountains. In the afternoon, embark on a guided walk around the crater lakes area of the park, offering you an outstanding cultural experience. Enjoy your meals and an overnight stay at your booked hotel.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale NP and transfer to Bwindi

Start your day with a half-day trek in Kibale Forest, where you will search for chimpanzees and encounter up to 10 other primate species, including the phoestes, red colobus, blue monkeys, and the red-tailed and grey-cheeked mangabey. Your knowledgeable guide will provide detailed explanations about the primates and  the diverse flora and fauna of the forest. This trek is an excellent opportunity for birdwatching and observing primates up close.

After lunch, continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your booked lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Begin your day with an early breakfast in preparation for the gorilla trekking adventure, which starts at 8:00 am with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) staff. Be sure to bring along your rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and jungle boots. Your guides will lead you deep into the jungle to track the shy mountain gorillas, a truly exhilarating experience. The trek may take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, but the effort is well worth it. In the afternoon, you will relax at the hotel or you opt for the community walk.

Day 5: Return to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, you will depart Bwindi and return to Kampala, continuing on to Entebbe. Along the way, you’ll stop for lunch and visit the Igongo Cultural Centre to explore the lifestyle of the Ankole and Bahima people.  You will also have a chance to stop at the Uganda Equator for a brief photo opportunity before proceeding to Entebbe for your evening departure flight home after the 5 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking.
