Overview
This 4 days Rwanda gorilla and golden monkey trekking safari takes you to Volcanoes National Park well known for Gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Drive through the unwinding hills in rural areas into the home of endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. Your safari begins from Kigali’s urban settings into the village setting of Musanze, this park is a habitat for a variety of primate species that you may encounter during your trekking. You will also encounter a number of bird species and other wildlife. This is a lifetime dream safari.
Day 1: Transfer from the airport to the Hotel
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport and after completing the immigration process, you will be warmly welcomed by our safari driver. They will provide you with a brief orientation before transferring you to your pre-booked accommodation. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in preparation for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Travel time +2hrs
Start your day with a delightful buffet breakfast before embarking on a city tour of Kigali. Our first stop is the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a solemn site where over 250,000 victims of the 1994 genocide are respectfully laid to rest in a mass grave. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to watch short video clips that provide insights into this tragic period, as well as view some of the preserved remains. Afterward, we’ll proceed to Musanze, near Volcanoes National Park, where you will enjoy dinner and settle in for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will be briefed before you enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen, and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or a whole day depending on the movements of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, unwind at your bungalow, soaking in the serene atmosphere and breathtaking views overlooking the volcanoes.

Day 4: Golden Monkey trekking and Transfer to Kigali airport
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park for a briefing before setting off on your golden monkey trekking experience. The same procedure as for gorilla trekking applies to the golden monkeys, and you will have an hour to observe these captivating creatures in their natural habitat. Afterward, you will return for lunch and then transfer to Kigali, either to your lodge or directly to the airport to catch your evening flight back to your home country.
