Day 1: Airport Transfer to Hotel:
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will go through custom and immigration, and you will be met by our company guide who will warmly welcome you to the Land of a thousand hills that Rwanda is know of, an later drive to your booked hotel accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Hotel des Milles Collines (Midrange hotel) or Quiet Haven hotel (Standard hotel)
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park. Travel time +5 hours
Early morning enjoy your buffer breakfast and checkout of the hotel and drive heading to the western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province, this will give you a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of Kingship with an enroute lunch. You will reach in the afternoon at Nyungwe national park and spend the afternoon at your leisure. Dinner and overnight at Emeraude Kivu Resort (Midrange lodge) or Gisakura Visitor Center (Budget lodge). Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy
Today, after your early morning cap of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour on finding the chimpanzees. During the chimpanzee trekking you may as well site other primate such as the famous Congo colobus monkeys. After doing the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 90 meters suspended metallic bridge will give you a great overview of Nyungwe forest and on a luck day spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay at Emeraude Kivu Resort (Midrange lodge) or Gisakura Visitor Center (Budget lodge). Day 4: Transfer to Musanze.
You will make up ready to catch up with the beautiful sun rise over the Lake Kivu after just getting done with your morning breakfast. You will take a boat ride to explore the beautiful attractions within this great lake. You have a nature walk at one of the islands within this lake which is known for harboring thousands of the bats. This lake is also known as a birding paradise as it host a number of bird species like the comrand, pied king fishers, weaver birds, heron to mention but a few. You will later return for and drive off to Musanze which is roughly a 3 hours’ drive. Musanze is a tourism area near Volcanoes National Park, where most of the lodges are located since there are no lodges inside of the park.Overnight and dinner at Le Bamboo Gorilla lodge (Midrange lodge) or Classic lodge (standard lodge). Day 5: Gorilla Trekking & Cultural Visit.
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their life style in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sun screen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movements of these primates. In the afternoon, ready for a village foot safari, to explore the indigenous local life with a taste of the traditional performance at IbyIwacu cultural center. Day 6: Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Travel time + 2 hrs
Today after you warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing and start off you day golden monkey trekking. Just like the gorilla trekking experience, the same applies to golden monkey trekking though no so hectic like gorilla trekking. After golden monkey trekking, you will return for lunch and you may opt to Visit Mount Gorilla Veterinary Doctors or Diana Fossey Research Institute in Musanze before you will transfer to Uganda through Cyanika boarder to Lake Bunyonyi where you will spend your entire evening having a cool evening relaxation and overlooking the lake Bunyonyi after having your lunch and dinner at your Lodge.Overnight and dinner at Bird Nest Resort (Midrange lodge) or Bunyonyi Overland Resort (standard lodge). Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi Canoe ride and Transfer to Bwindi
After your morning breakfast, you head for the thrilling canoe ride in Lake Bunyonyi, in this most spectacular lake, one of its kinds with numerous islands that make it most rewarding and center for tourism in the western region. After you will return relax and wait for lunch and later in the afternoon, transfer to Bwindi to the sector where your gorilla permit will be allocated. Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park one of the world UNESCO heritage site, having a number of bird species and harboring half of the left mountain gorilla population. The park is one of the best spot to see the endangered mountain gorillas, one of the leading activities in the park. You will catch up with your lunch, later head for a batwa cultural experience, where you take a visit to the local communities of the batwa to experience their social life and traditional ways of living, in the evening return to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight at Mutanda Lake Resort (Midrange lodge) or Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge(standard lodge). Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters together with your packed lunch early enough to be briefed about the code of conduct while with the gorillas for the second time, as you come face to face with the gentle giants again. This will be followed by entering the forest for trekking; the experience is magical and quite challenging, as you move from one trail to another throw the thickets in search for these primates. Quite a number of bird species and other primates plus wildlife can be spotted along the way. After trekking, you will be transferred to Kabale, to your booked accommodation at Lake Bunyonyi. This is a wonderful accommodation, with a beautiful view of Lake Bunyonyi, this will give you a great chance to take beautiful photos of the Land scape and the lake. You may decide to just relax and go through your lovely photos in your cameras. Overnight and dinner at Bird Nest Resort (Midrange lodge) or Rock Resort Bunyonyi (standard lodge). Day 9: Batwa visit & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth: Travel time +5hrs
Upon having your morning breakfast, your will jump into your safari car, transfer to the batwa cultural center for another batwa experience before you transfer to Queen Elizabeth through the beautiful unwinding fig trees of Ishasha as you’re welcomed by a number of wildlife along the way. You will later check in at Mweya safari lodge, located inside the park, for your dinner and overnight. The lodge has a beautiful location, in the hearts of the park, overlooking the beautiful Kazinga channel. Number of wildlife and bird species can be spotted from the lodge and across the channel.Overnight and dinner at Park View Safari lodge (Midrange lodge) or Twin Safari lodge (standard lodge). Day 10: Game drive & boat cruise
After an early morning breakfast at 6:00 am, you will head in search for the morning hunters and grazers such as the buffalos, elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, lions and variety of bird species that you will encounter on your game ride and later head for lunch.
After lunch you will proceed for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel to view the water dwelling birds and animals such as the pied king fisher, African fish eagle, herons, darters to mention but a few and see animals such as buffalos, crocodiles, monitor lizards, elephants wallowing at the mad and much more. After boat cruise, you will proceed for a short game drive as you find you way back to lodge for dinner and overnight. If time permits, you will visit the Lake Katwe salt mining area for beautiful photos of the local people doing the salt mining or visit the crater lakes around the park.Overnight and dinner at Park View Safari lodge (Midrange lodge) or Twin Safari lodge (standard lodge). Day 11: Transfer back to Kigali
Today after having a relaxed morning breakfast, with a beautiful view of the channel, you checkout of the lodge and drive back to Kigali via Kitagata hot springs to view the beautiful hot springs’ back to Kigali with an en route lunch at a convenient restaurant along the way to Kigali. If time permits, head for a city tour to visit Kigali genocide memorial ground or opt relax at your hotel as you wait for dinner and overnight stay at Hotel des Milles Collines (Midrange hotel) or Quiet Haven hotel (Standard hotel). Day 12: Transfer to the Airport.
In the morning after the relaxed breakfast at 8am, checkout of the hotel and heads for a city tour, to explore Kigali Genocide memorial where over 25000 victims of the genocide incidence were laid to rest, later visit Kimironko local market for shopping before heading for a shared lunch and later drop off at Kigali international airport at 2pm to catch up with your flight.
