Overview
This 8 Days Rwanda Cultural Tour will reward you with the discovery of Rwanda, a country of a thousand hills by visiting the natural forest of Nyungwe National Park for trekking chimpanzees, canopy walk waterfall hike, hiking the incredible Congo Nile trail, and ending your trip with the game drive within the Akagera National Park, we will have boat trip, canoe ride and may more activities just to spice your memorable trip to Rwanda.
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, our driver-guide will welcome you and transfer you to your booked hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. You will also receive a briefing on the upcoming 8-Day Rwanda Cultural Tour.

Day 2: Full-Day Kigali City Tour
Today morning after breakfast at your hotel, start your day with a historical exploration of Kigali city with visits to official landmarks and places from colonial, post-independence, genocide, and post-genocide times to have the most educative and incredible historical facts about Rwanda. You will be able to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial site where over 250,000 genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves, visit the Belgian camp where they killed the 10 Belgian UN soldiers who were protecting the moderate prime minister before the start of the genocide, explore old and new Kigali and in the evening return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Visit Azizi life and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
In the morning after breakfast, you will head to Muhanga to join the locals at their hillside, and to participate in their daily life activities as artists, you will be able to learn how they make the local basket weaving. Enjoy a day full of interactions, fun, feasting, and wonderful experiences. After we head to Butare and visit the Royal Kings Palace in Nyanza en route to Butare where you will have an insight into the past leadership of Rwandan kings, their traditions, and cultures, and proceed to Nyungwe National Park where you will spend your night.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk
Today, after your early morning cap of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour of finding the chimpanzees. After completing the chimpanzee trek, you will head to lunch before heading back into the forest for the exhilarating canopy walk experience, offering breathtaking views of Nyungwe’s lush environment. After a truly rewarding day, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Waterfall hike and Transfer to Kibuye for a boat ride
In the morning, following a leisurely breakfast, you will venture back into the lush Nyungwe Forest for an invigorating hike to the scenic waterfall. Along the way will offer you a unique perspective of the forest, perfect for birdwatching and discovering the area’s natural beauty. After this enriching experience, you will embark on a picturesque drive to Kibuye, passing through the breathtaking landscapes of Rwanda’s thousand hills along the shores of Lake Kivu. Upon arrival at your hotel, enjoy a relaxed lunch as you prepare for an afternoon boat excursion on Lake Kivu. During this adventure, you will explore several islands, including the tranquil Amahoro Island and the fascinating Napoleon Island. Later, you will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, wrapping up a day filled with unforgettable moments.

Day 6: Transfer Kibuye – Volcanoes National Park
In the morning, after breakfast, you will transfer to Musanze with a scenic stop at the Kinunu Coffee Plantation. Here, you will have the opportunity to experience the fascinating journey of coffee production, from seed to cup. After enjoying lunch, you will continue to Volcanoes National Park, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 7: Optional Gorilla or Golden Monkey Treks
In the morning, after breakfast, you will head into Volcanoes National Park for either a gorilla trekking ($1500 Per Person) or a golden monkey trekking experience ($100 Per Person). The adventure begins with a briefing at the park’s tourism office, where you will receive instructions based on your chosen activity. After the briefing, you will drive to the starting point and begin your trek. Upon locating the gorillas or golden monkeys, you will spend a memorable hour observing these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. After the trek, you will return to your accommodation for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, where you will learn about the extensive conservation efforts dedicated to protecting gorillas. Later in the evening, you will return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Airport departure
In the morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure. If your flight is scheduled for the afternoon, there will be an opportunity for a final Kigali city tour, including souvenir shopping to mark the end of your journey. Later, you will proceed to the airport for your departure.
