This 2 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking via Kigali takes you to the Bwindi Gorilla Forest, renowned for its gorilla trekking opportunities in Uganda. Journey through the rolling hills of rural landscapes into the habitat of endangered mountain gorillas. Your adventure begins in the urban settings of Kigali and transitions into the village surroundings of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a tropical rainforest home to a variety of primate species. In this forest, you will have the unique experience of tracking gorillas. Other trails offer bird watching and nature walks, where you can encounter species like the Blue Turaco, Black Casques Hornbills, Black and White Hornbills, and Woodland Kingfishers. Time permitting, you can also explore the local communities and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, offering insight into the local culture and history.

Day 1: Kigali – Bwindi (Travel Time: Approx. 4+ hrs)

Upon arrival, our guide or company driver will pick you up from the airport or your hotel. Begin your journey with a city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Afterward, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Southwestern Uganda. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of terraced farming and the beautiful landscape. Bwindi is home to nearly half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi and transfer back to Kigali

Start your day with an early morning coffee before preparing for a briefing by Uganda wildlife officials. You will then venture into the jungle to track the elusive mountain gorillas and observe their lifestyle in their natural habitat. After locating the gorillas, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to spend an hour with them, gazing into their expressive eyes. Gorilla trekking requires a reasonable level of fitness, along with essentials like walking shoes, packed food, mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a hat. The duration of the trek can range from half a day to a full day, depending on the gorillas’ movements. After this unforgettable experience, you will have lunch before transferring back to Kigali. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport to catch your evening or night flight.
