Trip Overview
These 16 days Rwanda gorilla trek and Tanzania Adventure take you to Rwanda for a Rwanda gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking safari to Volcanoes National Park well known for Gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Drive through the unwinding hills in rural areas into the home of endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. Your luxury safari begins from the Kigali urban setting into the village setting of Musanze, this park is a habitat for a variety of primate species that you may encounter during your trekking. You will also encounter many bird species and other wildlife. You will also have a visit to Iby’ Iwacu cultural village to get an insight into Rwanda culture and watch their traditional ways of living as you have a chance to interact with these ex-poachers. You will as well have a brief Kigali city tour, to explore the local markets and Genocide museum that will reward you with the history of Rwanda. Later you will jet to Tanzania for a wild bush safari, to experience an amazing big game safari in search of the Big Five. You will visit Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park, home of the Big 5. You will wind your trip with a beach life in Zanzibar, deep yourself in blue waters and white sand, as you enjoy some excursions and total relaxation, before you fly back home.
Day 1: Transfer from the airport to the hotel
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport and passing through the immigration process, you will be welcomed by our safari driver who will brief you on the 16 days Rwanda gorilla trek and Tanzania and transfer you to the booked accommodation.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Travel time +2hrs
Today you will be picked up at your lodge by our guide or company representative, head for a city tour to visit the local market and Kigali genocide memorial ground before being transferred to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park where you will have your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & cultural tour
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla trekking safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or a whole day depending on the movements of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, I was ready for a cultural tour to visit the Iby’ Iwacu Cultural Center to get an insight into Rwandan culture. You later drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Golden monkey trekking & transfer to Kigali
Today after your warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing with your packed lunch and start off your day golden monkey trekking in search of these shy primates in the jungle. Just like the gorilla trekking experience, the same applies to golden monkey trekking though not so hectic as gorilla trekking. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and later transfer to Kigali time permitting have a brief visit to Kimironko local market for a market tour and some local shopping if you wish too, before drop off at your hotel for the night treat and dinner

Day 5: Fly from Kigali to Serengeti
Check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport to catch up with your flight to Tanzania for a wild game drive safari. Your driver guide will be waiting at Airstrip in Serengeti, upon arrival you will be transferred to your lodge for check-in. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full-day game drives and game viewing in Serengeti NP
In the morning and after rewarding breakfast, you will leave the camp with your packed lunches for game drives and game viewings in the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park.
It is not so uncommon to spot big herds of elephants and groups of Giraffes browsing on acacia trees or a pride of Lions setting ambush on buffalo or hyenas feeding on abandoned zebra carcasses. Your game drives may also reveal animals like; Topi, Cheetahs, Crocodiles, Hippopotamus and Leopards, grant gazelles, Warthogs, Jackals, Impalas, and many other small to large-sized animals. More than 400 bird species including Ostriches, Vultures, Starlings, and Secretary birds roam in this land and can be easily spotted on your game drives. Lunch shall be served at the picnic site inside the wilderness. After returning for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Full Day Game Drives into Serengeti National Park.

Day 9: Serengeti en route game drives to the Ngorongoro area
Every day is a new day in Serengeti with different amazing series of events. After breakfast, you will leave the camp with your packed lunches for another memorable day towards the Ngorongoro conservation area. On this day you will still have a great opportunity to explore the Serengeti ecosystem with the great possibility to spot any other animals that you did not see in your first days. Lunchboxes shall be served to you at the picnic point followed by a further game drive to the famous Ngorongoro conservation area for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 10: Game drive in Ngorongoro crater Lake Manyara
Early in the morning and after breakfast, leave the Lodge with your packed lunches ready for another exciting day. Today your expert safari guide will lead you into the Ngorongoro crater for a wonderful game drive. Thereafter ascend the crater walls and drive to Karatu for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 11: Game drive in Lake Manyara National Park to Tarangire
At 800hrs, embark to Lake Manyara National Park with your packed lunches for game drives and game viewings, later drive to the Camp in Tarangire for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 12: Tarangire Game drive
In the morning after breakfast, you will head for a game viewing. Lesser kudu, eland, lions, elephants, and gerenuk can be found in this beautiful park, you will have a memorable day in the Tarangire NP. Later back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Tarangire NP to Zanzibar
In the morning after the relaxed breakfast drive to Arusha for hot Lunch at a restaurant and later transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Arrive at Zanzibar International Airport, meet and greet with the guide/driver at the Airport, then transfer to the beach hotel of your choice for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Day excursion in Zanzibar, Stone town tour & Spice tour
Have morning breakfast, you will head for a day excursion to explore the vibrant hot spot of Zanzibar with a tour of the Stone Town and learn about its rich history and cultural heritage and Spice tour, which is the second income earner of Zanzibar, with a drive through a profusion of greenery in the countryside seeing, smelling and tasting a variety of spices and mouth-watering tropical seasonal fruits such as jack fruit, pineapple, banana, green coconut juice, durian, love apple, litchi, soursop ( depending on the season ) etc.

Day 15: Free day – Self-treat
It’s your free day, to enjoy yourself to the fullest, you can opt to stay at the beach, arrange a private snorkeling adventure, or just relax at the hotel, as you go through your photos, taken during your safari. The choice is yours to try something on your own.
