We ask all visitors to adopt the appropriate level of sensitivity to the local cultural and political environment as an essential element of your personal security and of those accompanying you throughout your visit.

Lastly, Park management emphasizes the importance of all visitors making themselves aware of the current security situation at the time of their visit. When organizing a trip to Virunga, we advise that visitors check with their government’s office of foreign affairs about any travel alerts.

Our region is of Mountains;our trekkers are strongly advised to bring full rain and cold weather gear(moisture-wicking base layer sweater or fleece, jacket, rain resistant pants,long underwear,warm socks, hat and rated sleeping bags.

This is due to the temperature at the summit which is below freezing.Failure to bring proper gear may/will lead to hypothermia.

It is required to tourists to bring a yellow fever certificate which as valid, if not you will be cost to pay $70 at the border.

All the trekkers begin their activities at 8 for the briefing.
