Canopy Walk at Nyungwe Forest, This one of its kind in first tree top forest canopy walk in East Africa and the third in all Africa, that is located inside the Nyungwe National Park the feeling is just as if you’re moving on top of the world though very scary, the experience is one of its kind, not found elsewhere. Moving on top of trees, where you just listen to the sweet melodies from birds as butterflies fly past you. Bird Watching in forest  and monkeys trekking swing from one branch to another as you take a walk over this metallic trail with a best view that reward for bird watching and primates viewing, your left with strong imaginations only.

About the suspension bridge

This canopy walk at Nyungwe forest is also 50 meters above the ground and this can also be dizzying heights for some people, you will see the monkeys move around in the tree tops, the birds that are flying above you and below you and a beautiful view of the huge Nyungwe forest.

It’s also an amazing sight. This canopy walk is also 90m long which is not a long distance; however, it’s when you are 50 m above the ground.

Access to the canopy walkway, which is on the Igishigishigi Trail, involves a preliminary 20- to 30-minute hike from Uwinka.

Canopy walk at Nyungwe forest tours begin at set times (8am, 10am, 1pm and 3pm), last about two hours and are guided (per person US$60).

About age limit

All participants for this canopy safari must be at least six years of age and children must be accompanied by adults. You should bring a raincoat as rain frequently falls in Nyungwe.

But if you don’t come with a raincoat, you can rent one as well as walking boots and sticks.
