Overview
This 7 days luxury Rwanda safari adventure promises unforgettable memories as you explore and experience the best of Rwanda’s attractions in just one week. The itinerary takes you to two of Rwanda’s iconic national parks, which are Nyungwe National Park and Volcanoes National Park—while also including a visit to the scenic Lake Kivu to enrich your journey. Engage with the local community and gain insights into their daily lives, adding a cultural dimension to your adventure. Highlights of the trip include both gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking, offering a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience.
Day 1: Airport Transfer to Hotel
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will go through customs and immigration, and you will be met by our company guide who will warmly welcome you to the Land of a Thousand Hills that Rwanda is known for, and later drive to your booked hotel accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Early morning, enjoy your buffet breakfast, check out of the hotel, and head to the airport to take your flight to Nyungwe National Park. On arrival at Kamembe airport, you will be picked up by our driver guide who will drive to the hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 90 meters-suspended metallic bridge will give you a great overview of Nyungwe forest and on a lucky day spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking
Today, after your early morning cup of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe, well known for having 13 species of primates, and transfer to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour of finding the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, you will head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Musanze with Enroute boat trip
You will make up ready to catch up with the beautiful sunrise over Lake Kivu after just getting done with your morning breakfast and take a boat ride to explore the beautiful attractions within this great lake. You have a nature walk at one of the islands within this lake which is known for harboring thousands of bats. This lake is also known as a birding paradise as it hosts some bird species like the cormorant, pied kingfishers, weaver birds, and heron to mention but a few. You will later return for and drive off to Musanze which is roughly a 3 hours drive. Musanze is a tourism area near Volcanoes National Park, where most of the lodges are located since there are no lodges inside the park.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking & Cultural Visit
Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters and thereafter, you will enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole days depending on the movements of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, head to explore the local life with a taste of the traditional performance at Ibyiwacu Cultural Center. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Golden Monkey & Transfer to Kigali
Today after your warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing and start your day golden monkey trekking. Just like the gorilla trekking experience, the same applies to golden monkey trekking though not so hectic as gorilla trekking and you will later return to the lodge for lunch and later transfer to Kigali.

Day 7: Transfer to the Airport
After a relaxed morning breakfast, and depending on your departure flight schedule, you may have the opportunity to enjoy a city tour, visiting local markets and craft shops to purchase souvenirs. Following the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure, bringing this unforgettable journey to a memorable close.
