You’ll embark on a guided one hour walking tour organized by the Nyamirambo Women’s Center, where you will learn a few basic Kinyarwanda phrases, visit a local Milk Bar, interact with local vendors selling fresh produce, explore the Nyamirambo Cassava Project and observe the traditional cassava leaf preparation process, step into a local hair salon, where you may try a free braid, enjoy informal chats with residents as you walk through the community, after the walking tour, you’ll break for lunch at a local restaurant.
The afternoon continues with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, a moving tribute to the victims of the 1994 genocide. Here, you’ll have time to reflect as you walk through the museum, read personal stories, and watch informative video clips.
