This 2-Day Gorilla and golden monkey Trekking Safari in Rwanda takes you to Volcanoes National Park, driving through the unwinding hills in rural areas into the home of endangered mountain gorillas. Your safari begins from Kigali’s urban settings up to the beautiful village of Musanze. From Musanze, you will access Volcanoes National Park, a well-known habitat for various primate species you may encounter during your trekking. Day 1: Kigali City tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport at 14:00 hrs or earlier, or upon pick up from your hotel in Kigali, you will begin your journey with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. This meaningful experience offers valuable insight into Rwanda’s history and its remarkable journey of resilience and reconciliation. After the visit, you will proceed on a scenic drive of approximately two and a half hours to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival at your booked lodge, you will check in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure, relaxing and preparing for the exciting experiences ahead.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Transfer to Kigali
On Day 2, after your early morning breakfast, at 7:30 am, you and your packed lunch will be transported to the park’s headquarters. At the Office of Tourism in Kinigi, you will be briefed by the ranger about the rules and regulations of Mountain Gorilla tracking before you head off to the jungle in search of these gentle giants. The gorilla trek can last from an hour to six hours depending on the gorilla’s movements. The trek is strenuous at times but incredibly rewarding. You will be given an hour with the gorillas to take as many pictures as possible. Once you have returned from your trek, head for lunch in one of the local restaurants before hitting the road to find your way back to Kigali, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the Kigali airport to catch your evening flight.
