15 Days Wildlife and Primate Safari

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your driver-guide and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi for check-in. Dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Transfer Nairobi to  Masai National Park – Travel time 5.5 hrs

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, followed by an introduction to your safari driver-guide and a pre-safari briefing. Afterwards, depart for the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy a delicious lunch. Later in the afternoon, embark on your first exciting game drive in the Masai Mara, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 and day 4: Game drives in Masai Mara

Spend the next two days immersed in the incredible wilderness of the Masai Mara, exploring its vast landscapes on thrilling game drives. As you traverse the reserve, keep an eye out for the Big Cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards as well as a variety of antelopes and bird species. Other remarkable sightings may include buffalos, zebras, spotted hyenas, Masai giraffes, elands, gazelles, hippos, black rhinos, and many more fascinating creatures that call this ecosystem home. The Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife reserves, boasts an exceptional diversity of predators, scavengers, plains game, and prolific birdlife. It is also the stage for the world-famous Great Migration, an awe-inspiring natural spectacle that occurs annually between July and October, when over 1.2 million wildebeest and zebras cross from the Serengeti in search of greener pastures. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer from Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha

Enjoy breakfast at your lodge or camp. Check out by 08:00 hrs and depart for Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, have lunch at your resort. Spend the afternoon head for a picturesque boat ride offering close encounters with hippos and other wildlife. Later you will back to your lodge for the dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer from Lake Naivasha to  Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru, enjoying a scenic drive along the floor of the Great Rift Valley with a brief stopover to take in the stunning views. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is renowned for its population of endangered rhinos, the elegant Rothschild’s giraffes, and when in season, a vibrant display of lesser flamingos along the lake shore. A variety of other mammals and bird species also inhabit the park, offering a rich and rewarding safari experience. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer Lake Nakuru to Nairobi and fly to Uganda

Early morning breakfast at your lodge. Check out of rooms and depart for a transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for boarding your flight to Entebbe in Uganda. Upon arrival at the Entebbe international airport , You will be warmly welcomed to Uganda by our guide who will be waiting for you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer from Entebbe to Murchison Falls. Travel time +5hrs

After enjoying a delightful breakfast at 07:00 hrs, you will set off for Murchison Falls National Park, one of Uganda’s most visited and iconic parks. En route, make a memorable stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting on foot rhino tracking experience, offering a unique opportunity to encounter one of the Big Five up close. Continue your journey into the park, where you may spot a variety of wildlife along the way as you head to your lodge. Spend the evening at leisure, unwinding and soaking in the serene surroundings of the African wilderness. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 9: Game drive and Boat cruise at Murchison Falls NP

Start your day with a refreshing cup of African coffee before heading out on an early morning game drive. Accompanied by your expert guide, you’ll have the opportunity to spot a wide array of wildlife including elephants, lions, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyenas, and if you’re lucky, the elusive leopard. Lunch will be provided during the course of the day. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat safari along the Nile River towards the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls. Along the way, you’ll be closely observed by basking crocodiles, pods of hippos, herds of buffalo, water birds, primates, and other wildlife drawn to the river’s edge. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest National Park. Travel time +6hrs

In the morning, you will embark on a leisurely drive through the lush countryside toward Kibale Forest National Park, with scenic stops along the way, including panoramic views of the distant Rift Valley escarpment. You will arrive at Kibale Forest in the late afternoon and spend the evening unwinding at the lodge, where dinner and an overnight stay await.

Day 11: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen. Travel time +5hrs

Today, enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing ahead of your chimpanzee tracking experience. During the trek, you may also encounter other primates such as Vervet monkeys, Blue Hoest monkeys, and Black-and-white colobus monkeys, among others. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most visited savannah parks, located in the western region of the country. The park offers stunning views of the Kazinga Channel, teeming with wildlife and well known for its unique and scenic boat trips, often highlighted by large gatherings of hippos. Spend the evening at your leisure, relaxing at the lodge.

Day 12: Morning Game drive and afternoon Boat  cruise

In the morning, you will embark on an early game drive in the Kasenyi plains, a prime area for wildlife viewing, with the chance to spot a variety of animals including big cats and numerous antelope species. Afterwards, return to the lodge for a late breakfast followed by lunch. In the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a scenic boat cruise, offering close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife along the water’s edge.

Day 13: Transfer to Bwindi National Park. Travel time +6hrs

After a relaxed breakfast in the morning, you will set off on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in the southern region of Uganda. Renowned for being home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, Bwindi is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts. This lush highland rainforest, one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems on earth that is rich with primates, exotic bird species, misty valleys, rolling hilltops, and papyrus swamps. Upon arrival, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your booked lodge.

Day 14: Gorilla Trekking Experience

Start the day with an early breakfast in preparation for your gorilla trekking adventure, which begins at 08:00 AM with a briefing by the tourism office staff. Be sure to carry essentials such as a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, and sturdy jungle boots. You will then be guided into the forest to track the specific gorilla group you’ve been assigned. Mountain gorilla trekking is widely regarded as one of the most thrilling and unforgettable wildlife experiences in the world. The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas, but every moment is worth the effort. Spend the afternoon at your leisure, relaxing at the lodge, before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay at your booked accommodation.

Day 15: Transfer from Bwindi  to Kigali

Enjoy breakfast in the morning before boarding your jeep for the return journey to Kigali. En route, you will stop for lunch and make a brief visit through the city. One of the key highlights is a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the final resting place of over 250,000 victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.  Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to explore Kimironko Market, one of the city’s bustling local markets, where you can shop for souvenirs and local crafts. You will then be transferred to Kigali International Airport in time for your late evening flight back home.
