This 10 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Masai Mara Migration Adventure will give a total wild gorilla trekking experience in the thick impenetrable forest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, which is one of the hot spot to trek the gorillas, known for harboring half of the word famous mountain gorillas. 10 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking

Day 1: Transfer from the airport to the hotel

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport and passing through the immigration process, you will be welcomed by our safari driver who will, brief you shortly and transfer you to the booked accommodation for the diner and overnight stay.  This will mark the start of your 10 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Masai Mara Adventure.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi: Travel time +4hrs

After an early morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and proceed to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a solemn site that honors the memory of over one million Rwandans who perished during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to watch and listen to powerful testimonies and video clips from survivors, offering deep insight into Rwanda’s history and resilience. Following this moving experience, you will embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi. Upon arrival at your booked accommodation, you will enjoy a late lunch and spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure, relaxing and preparing for the following day’s unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience

Start your day with an early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for a briefing conducted by Uganda Wildlife Authority officials. Afterward, you will venture into the forest in search of the shy mountain gorillas, observing their fascinating behaviors in their natural habitat. Once you locate the gorilla family, you’ll have the rare opportunity to spend an unforgettable hour in their presence, gazing into their expressive, soulful eyes. Gorilla trekking requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. Be sure to bring sturdy walking shoes, packed lunch, mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a hat. The duration of the trek can vary from a few hours to a full day, depending on the movement of the gorillas. Following this incredible wildlife encounter, return to your lodge for a relaxed afternoon.

Day 4: Canoe ride and transfer to Kigali

After a leisurely breakfast, you will board your safari jeep and set off for a canoe ride adventure on Lake Bunyonyi—an enchanting lake nestled in the scenic valleys of Kisoro. Known for its tranquil waters and stunning landscapes, Lake Bunyonyi is dotted with picturesque islands and is home to a variety of bird species, making it a true haven for nature lovers. Later, you will begin your journey back to Kigali, enjoying an en route lunch along the way. Time permitting, you may stop for a brief visit to the vibrant Kimironko local market, where you can explore and shop for authentic local crafts and produce. You will then be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali for a relaxing evening, complete with dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to the airport to fly to Kenya

After breakfast in the morning, you will continue your 10 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Masai Mara Migration Adventure with a flight to Kenya. Once you’ve enjoyed a relaxed breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your Kenyan driver-guide will be waiting to welcome you. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi city for check-in and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before meeting your safari driver for an introduction and a pre-safari briefing. At approximately 08:30 AM, you will depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Along the way, you will enjoy a scenic drive through picturesque farmlands and along the floor of the Great Rift Valley, with a brief stopover to take in the stunning views. Upon arrival at the park, you will check in at your lodge or tented camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for an exciting game drive. Lake Nakuru is renowned for hosting four of the Big Five, as well as a rich variety of other mammals and bird species. The park’s standout highlights include the endangered white rhinos and, during certain months, spectacular flocks of both lesser and greater flamingos.

Day 7: Transfer from Lake Nakuru  to Masai Mara National Reserve

Breakfast will be served from 06:30 AM. At approximately 07:15 AM, you will depart Lake Nakuru and begin your journey to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley and the vast savannah plains of Kenya. Upon arrival at the reserve, you will check in at your lodge or tented camp, followed by a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, set out on your first thrilling game drive in the Masai Mara, from 03:30 PM to 06:00 PM, as you explore the reserve’s abundant wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8 and Day 9 – Masai Mara

You will spend two full days exploring the expansive Masai Mara National Reserve, enjoying thrilling game drives in search of its diverse wildlife. Keep an eye out for the resident big cats—lions, cheetahs, and leopards as well as elephants, buffaloes, zebras, spotted hyenas, Masai giraffes, elands, gazelles, black rhinos, hippos, and a wide variety of bird species. The Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most renowned wildlife reserves, is home to the iconic Big Five, along with an incredible range of predators, scavengers, plains game, and prolific birdlife. This spectacular ecosystem also hosts one of the greatest wildlife events on Earth, the annual wildebeest migration. Between July and October, over 1.2 million wildebeest and zebras make their dramatic crossing from the Serengeti in search of greener pastures. Return to your lodge each evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Masai Mara – Nairobi- and Flight back home

Enjoy breakfast at the camp, followed by check-out. Depending on the location of your camp and available time, you may enjoy a final en route game drive as you begin your journey back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in the city, and if time permits, you may opt for a farewell lunch at the renowned Carnivore Restaurant. You will then be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your afternoon flight back home. End of the 10 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Masai Mara Migration Adventure.
