Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the hot spots for the gorilla trekking adventure, known for both gorilla trekking and gorilla habituation programmes.
The park has four sectors, namely Rushaga, Buhoma, Nkuringo, and Ruhija. These sectors are all located in different angles with the park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is so huge, and has half of the world’s mountain gorilla populations.
When you’re heading for gorilla trekking, you will need to secure your accommodation and gorilla permits in advance, as the demand for both is very high.
Each sector of the park has accommodation facilities next to it, which makes accessibility for your next morning trekking quite easy, if you happen to book accommodation close to the trekking sector.
You’re always advised to first book the gorilla permit, which will determine where you will stay and that means, you will book an accommodation facility in the sector, you happened to secure the gorilla permit, of which depends on the availability. If you’re interested in a specific property, you will need to book the permit in the sector in advance and reserve the lodge as well.
Where to stay in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, has to match where you will be trekking the next morning, though some stay as far as Kisoro or Lake Bunyonyi area, and drive over 1 hour in the morning for the trekking, though we advise to stay next to the park, for easy access, as its walking distance.
No accommodation is inside the park, majority are located close to the park boundaries.
