What to do around Entebbe Town
Entebbe town is the main gate way into the country via the Entebbe international airport. Entebbe town is one of the buzzling cities in Uganda, full of great beaches, restaurants, and adventure parks. A number of tourists and traveler’s always have this question on what to do around Entebbe town, either prior to their safari to Uganda or after their safari before they fly out. Boat cruise on Lake Victoria.
You can decide to take a day schedule morning, noon or evening boat cruise on Lake Victoria, to explore this beautiful Lake on the boat. You can as well decide to use a small private motor boat, so serve your interest. Several hotels at the lake zone own their motor boats that they do hire out at a reasonable price to serve your interest.
Visit to Entebbe zoo.
You can take a minute, and walk into Entebbe zoo (known as Uganda Wildlife Education Center UWEC), and have a moment with the wildlife, which will offer you a great insight on some of the wildlife you will encounter during your safari moment in Uganda. Bird life is also one of the attractions, with the shoebill as well being on ground. There is a restaurant on site, and when you visit during animal feeding time, you can participate in feeding them, and enjoy the lovely moment with the wildlife, including the lions and the newly introduced tigers.
Visit Entebbe Botanical Garden.
Entebbe Botanical Garden has a very quiet environment that attracts a number of nature lovers, who would wish to just sit, relax and enjoy the cool fresh air that the trees supply. A number of restaurants are in place, for those who would like to have a bite. Bird life is in abundance as well as some monkeys.
Go Fishing on Lake Victoria.
The adventure awaits your way, if you are a fishing fan, with great experience. You can do full day or half day fishing, on either a motorized boat or canoe. The lake harbors a number of tilapia and Nile patch fish that are commonly caught on the lake during fishing. You will have great fun, not only fishing, but learning a lot about bird life, and real life of people around the area.
Get to the Beach.
There are a number of beaches surrounding the Entebbe, along Lake Victoria that attract a lot of people who come to enjoy beach life. Some hotels as well have private beaches along the lake that may make it easy for you to easily access. You’re free to enjoy some of the spots like volleyball and beach football. The Reptile village sanctuary boasts a number of reptiles, ranging from snakes, tortoises, turtles, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and chameleons. Most of these reptiles are rescued from people’s homestead and brought here. You will have a lovely moment, including touching some of the snakes like pythons. You can as well participate in feeding them.
Visit Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is an amazing place to watch a number of chimpanzees play around, as you take your lovely moment to study the chimpanzee in the sanctuary playing free. You can be involved in the feeding process as well moving around and studying the site. The journey to the island is by boat, rewarding you with a lovely boat tour on Lake Victoria.
Play some Golf.
Visit Entebbe Golf club, and have a game off time to play some golf if you’re a fan of golf. No need to worry about your own equipment as they can be hired out and you go straight to the field, which is international standard.
Explore Mabamaba Swamp Bay.
The Mabamba Swamp, is well known for harboring the rare shoebill bird, which is highly spotted here as a hot spot for the bird. Those who love birding, a number of other water birds can easily be sighted here. The area has become a top and must visit birding site.
Visit Entebbe Craft Village.
Set up in 2002, this area has become a popular shopping area for those who love local art craft and clothing to carry back home. You will find all you need here.
Go clubbing and drinking.
The town is colored with beautiful night clubs and bars that will attend to your thirst. Any drink or Ugandan local brand can be got once you go outing and clubbing. Have fun and enjoy yourself to the fullest, shaking your waist to one of the Ugandan tunes, with warm people around you. Dance to your toes, and enjoy your moment.
