Book the Gorilla Permit

To Book the gorilla permit, also known as a getting gorilla pass or gorilla permission, is the key to a guaranteed gorilla safari. Without it, you cannot see gorillas in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda, and Virunga National Park in DRC. A permit is an authorizing document issued by government bodies in charge of tourism, which permits a tourist to visit gorillas for a given booked date. After booking a gorilla permit, you are eligible to do this adventurous activity, which involves hiking and walking into the jungle forest in search of the gorillas.

How to Book the Gorilla Permit in Advance

Usually, you have to obtain a permit several months in advance. We always advise at least 5 months in advance or prior to your visit. While booking a gorilla tour, always pay your permit fees in advance to enable us acquire it for you. Gorilla trekking is guaranteed when you acquire a permit. Uganda and Rwanda gorilla permits are very competitive and scarce, most especially during peak seasons of June, July, August, September for Rwanda and the peak seasons of June, July, August, September, December and February in Uganda. Sometimes trekking permits get sold out four months in advance. Therefore, any traveler needs to secure permits 3–4 months in advance. Book the Gorilla Permit Prices by Country

Rwanda

Currently to book the permit in Rwanda, the permits cost USD 1500 per person for all nationalities. In addition, USD 1050 applies for tourists spending more than 3 days in the country visiting other national parks, namely Nyungwe National Park and Akagera National Park. Furthermore, a USD 1275 g price applies for visitors on conference if they book the gorilla permit before or after their conference .

Uganda

To reserve the permit in Uganda, permits cost USD 600 per person. In addition, gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi costs USD 1500 per person. Currently, there are no more low season discounted permits.

Congo

To reserve the permit in Congo costs USD 450. In addition, lowland gorilla permit costs USD 450.
