Overview
The 7 Days Rwanda Wildlife Adventure Tour will give you a great experience of exploring two Rwandan national parks, thus Akagera National Park and Nyungwe National Park, with a visit to Lake Kivu, and Kigali city tour including a visit to some of the museums within Kigali and southern province. This is a great way to explore Rwanda in 7 days as you visit one of the most visited parks.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, depending on your flight time and undergoing immigration procedures, you will be met by our safari driver guide who will warmly welcome you into the land of a thousand hills, brief you shortly, and later transfer you to your booked accommodation for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park for Game Drive and Boat Trip, travel time +2hours
After your relaxed breakfast at the lodge, you will be picked up by our safari driver guide, who will transfer you to the Akagera National Park for a big game viewing safari. Akagera National Park is the only Rwanda Savannah Park which is known for the big five game viewing in Eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania, it will give you a chance to spot a number of wildlife and bird species. You will check in for lunch at your accommodation and later in the afternoon head for a sunset boat trip on Lake Ihema, where you will have a great opportunity to spot a number of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes, wallowing along the water bank, and a number of bird species such as the pelican, pied king fisher’s, darters and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Rwandan History After the tour, you’ll return to your hotel for dinner and a peaceful evening stay.

Day 3: Full-day safari game drive and transfer back to Kigali
Today after taking your early morning breakfast, we shall head out of the lodge with our packed lunch, for a full day game drive before sunset, so as to take a nice shot of the sunrise and also catch up with the early risers; you will go for another game drive in the park searching for wildlife. The drive through the park will reward you with animals like lions, elephants, buffaloes, and many more. You will later head for a transfer to Kigali.

Day 4: Visit Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and Huye
After breakfast in the morning, you will set off for a city tour, starting with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Stops at other notable locations in Kigali, such as the bustling Kimironko Local Market will follow this. After completing the city tour, you will embark on a journey to the Southern Province. Upon arrival in Nyanza, you will visit the King’s Palace Museum, where you can delve into Rwanda’s rich history and learn about the country’s traditional kingship. Later, you will continue to Huye for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe with ethnographic museum and tea plantation visit, travel time + 6hrs
Start your day with an early morning buffet breakfast, followed by checkout from your hotel. Begin your journey with a visit to the Ethnographic Museum in the Southern Province, offering fascinating insights into the traditional way of life in Rwanda. On your way to Nyungwe National Park, you will stop at the Kitabi Tea Plantation to enjoy an immersive tea experience. Continue your drive to Nyungwe, arriving in the afternoon. Once there, spend the rest of your day at leisure, taking in the serene surroundings of this remarkable national park.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk
Today, after your early morning cap of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour of finding the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 90 meters-suspended metallic bridge will give you a great overview of Nyungwe forest and on a lucky day spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Boat trip and transfer back to Kigali for departure
Begin your day with a delightful breakfast before transferring to Lake Kivu for the boat trip within the lake. This enchanting experience will allow you to explore the beauty of the lake, including visits to its numerous picturesque islands. Afterward, you will drive back to Kigali, ensuring you arrive in time for your evening flight.
