Rwanda Tourist Visa Requirements

Getting a Rwanda tourist visa is very easy as it is obtained at the Kigali International airport on Arrival. Rwanda, known to be the safest and cleanest country in Africa, is attractive to many tourists around the world. The main attraction for tourists in Rwanda is Gorilla trekking though there are also the Akagera National Park for game drive and Nyungwe Rain Forest National Park with different types of primates. For citizens of the East African Community members states (Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Southern Sudan) are issued entry visa free of charge upon arrival to stay for a period of six months, a period that is enough for someone looking at exploring the beauty of Rwanda from National parks, people and culture as well as the Kigali City that is ranked the cleanest city in Africa.

A selection of countries is granted a free of charge visa for 90 days, also received at arrival in the country. Tourists from the following countries are granted this type of visa: Angola, Benin, Central Africa Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Guinea, Indonesia, Haiti, Mauritius, St Christopher and Nevis, Philippines, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Sao Tome and Principe, Singapore and Qatar.

Tourists from countries that are not visa exempt, also submit a visa application online when they are travelling to Rwanda. They can also submit their application at the Rwanda Diplomatic missions in their country of residence before their departure to Rwanda. This type of tourist visa is valid for 90 days and is on multiple entry if staying within the three countries.
