Lake Victoria is the largest Lake in Africa, second largest in the entire world, and the true source of The Nile River. The Lake is nested near the Entebbe airport, which makes visiting it very easy, before you start your Uganda Safari, as you land in or at the end of your Uganda safari, as you fly out.
Lake Victoria is a growing trend in tourism potential of Uganda, with big investments coming in, with newly introduced boat vessels, to boost water transport and leisure. MV Vanessa, a newly introduced boat, together with MV Kalangala, are running cruises between Kalanga and Nakiwogo – Entebbe, which has boosted tourism to the islands of Lake Victoria, which has scheduled transport services on a daily basis, with seat classes. Advance booking is recommended though due to the demand of the ferry services. Departure is mainly at Nakiwogo landing site and dock at Kalangala. Kalangala is on the northern shore of Bugala Island, the largest of the Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria.
