Getting Around Rwanda
It is safe to visit Rwanda when you are a tourist whether you are with your driver guide or you are driving yourself within Kigali City or outside of Kigali to different Rwanda tourism attractions. All roads connect Kigali with the upcountry they are tarmac, all roads to tourism attractions are well maintained, driving through them is one of the experiences for tourists travelling to Rwanda.
When visiting the Northern part of Rwanda we use the tarmac road until Musanze to Kinigi which is closer to Volcanoes National Park. The road is tarmac until Kinigi for the briefing for tourism activity you will do for the day whether you are doing Gorilla trekking , Golden monkey or volcanoes hiking, all they roads are so safe to drive through them yourself or by the driver guide.
It is safe to visit Rwanda in the western part of the country where we have the lake Kivu, Gishwati Mukura National Park, Nyungwe national park and the beautiful Congo Nile trail.
Visiting Parks
Rwanda is well known for Gorilla trekking, trekking Gorillas in Rwanda are safe when planning the trip for trekking you pass through the local tour operator who just arrange the permit to visit, advising you of the entire requirement to trek. It is safe to trek Gorillas since you enter the jungle with your guide and forest rangers.
All other trekking is so safe for tourists. Like trekking in Nyungwe National Park for chimpanzees, canopy walk, hiking trails, and other primate treks. All the trails are well maintained for the safety of the tourists visiting the country.
For Akagera National Park , Game dive is safe for tourists since it is guided by a game drive and the tourist stays in the car while he or she is inside the park.
