Location

Karenge Bush Camp sits in a quiet and remote area of Akagera National Park, overlooking open savannahs and woodlands. Moreover, animals often walk near Karenge Bush Camp during both day and night hours, giving guests excellent chances to observe wildlife right from camp. In addition, its location ensures star-filled skies at night without any light pollution, creating a magical setting for bush evenings. Guests access the camp via the park’s main entrance, and staff arrange transfer times according to guest itineraries.

The camp’s design emphasizes closeness to nature, safety, and a minimal environmental footprint, while still ensuring comfort for guests.

Important Information about Karenge Bush Camp

Karenge Bush Camp opens only during the dry months, from June to September and again from December to February. With just six tents, the camp offers an intimate experience, so we highly recommend advance booking. Children above twelve years are welcome, but due to the unfenced setting the camp does not accept younger children for safety reasons. Guests can check in from midday and must check out by ten in the morning. Trained staff take safety seriously, with first aid kits and close coordination with park rangers. Warm clothing is advised for the cooler evenings, and guests should bring personal essentials such as flashlights, insect repellent, and safari gear.
