Location

Amakoro Songa Lodge is in Kinigi, Musanze District, which is a very a short drive from the entrance of Volcanoes National Park. Because of this location, you can reach the gorilla trekking starting point within just a few minutes, which is convenient for early morning treks. The lodge sits between farmland and forest, and it offers wide views of the Virunga volcanoes. The area has a lot to offer, for instance nearby villages give you a chance to learn about local culture and daily life. As a result, staying here feels both connected to the community and close to the park.

Amakoro Songa Lodge features eight spacious cottages built from stone, wood, and other natural materials that mirror the surrounding environment. Furthermore, each cottage includes a private bathroom, comfortable beds, and outdoor seating areas for quiet moments after trekking. Families and small groups can also request cottages close to one another for convenience.

Important Information about Amakoro Songa Lodge

Check-in begins at 2:00 pm, and check-out is at 11:00 am. The lodge is open all year. Gorilla trekking begins promptly at 7:00 am. Children aged ten and above are welcome to stay, but only guests fifteen years and older may join treks. The lodge do0es not permit pets on the premises.
