Request a Quote The 300 sq kilometer forest located along Kampala Jinja Highway on a stretch of valleys, hills and some parts are fringed by papyrus swamps and savannah on the shore of Lake Victoria, is filled with more than 300 endemic plants, 9 endangered species of mammals in Mabira not found anywhere else in Uganda and they include the short tailed fruit bat, Mangabey, baboon, colobus monkeys, butterflies and several birds. Statistics has it that the forest has 218 species of butterflies, 23 mammals including primates and 95 moth species. Some of the birds in Mabira forest reserve include red headed blue bill, black, bellied seed cracker, cassin hawk eagle, purple throated cuckoo, forest wood hoope and tit hylia, to mention a few.

You will be picked by our driver guide from your hotel accommodation after having your morning breakfast and drive along Kampala Jinja highway via Mukono which is roughly a 2 hours drive with a pan ranking view of the farm yards along the way to the forest headquarters at Najjembe where you will be briefed before you head for a nature walk. The local guide will later take you through a forest walk whereby he will be explaining to you difference wildlife and plant species you meet along the trails. Later, after nature walk, you head for lunch and drive back to Kampala reaching in the late evening.
