Nyungwe Forest Lodge is situated in Gisakura, a working tea plantation, on the edge of the Nyungwe Forest National Park, a haven for primates in Africa’s largest mountain rainforest – right at your doorstep.

Nyungwe Forest LodgeThe lodge set up in 2010 and has fast become a favorite with tourists in the area. It has some of the best facilities in Rwanda and very good service.

The Nyungwe Forest is the largest mountain rainforest on the African continent with over 13 different species of primates, representing 20% of all the apes in Africa.

Meals

Usually, the bookings are on full board basis therefore the meals are include on the prices set for the accommodation. Experienced chefs prepare the meals.

Nyungwe Lodge has two common areas a dinning and lounge. The dining area has an outdoor deck and this is perfect for the sundowners.

One can enjoy some coffee or tea as you watch the sun set.  Apart from the restaurant you can opt to have your tea or coffee at your Balcony since all rooms have a balcony.

The restaurant offers a 4 course menu for lunch and dinners and an English breakfast. Bottled drinking water is free and provided in rooms.

Accommodation

Nyungwe Forest Lodge consists of 22 luxury rooms which are situated in 6 wooden villas of four rooms each. There are also two presidential suites in separate villas with one of these having a Jacuzzi.

This is a luxury lodge and as such the rooms are modern fit-outs and well decorated with traditional touches.

Each room is equipped with private decks which offer views overlooking the vast forest terrain. It has comfortable luxury rooms, one of them even has a jacuzzi.

You can either dine outdoors, or in the restaurant, or in your room. The rooms have modern and beautiful decoration and some traditional craft works.

After a long day, you can spend some quality time at your private decks enjoying the view of the forest canopy

There is access to WIFI, and telephone services, so you can communicate to people back home.

There are also sate-lite TVs in the rooms to keep you in touch with the rest of the world.
