Virunga Inn Resort & Spa

Virunga Inn Resort & Spa is a modern lodge designed for comfort and relaxation near Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Location

The resort sits in Musanze, a short drive from Volcanoes National Park, making it an ideal base for gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking, and cultural visits such as the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village. The setting feels private and quiet, surrounded by green hills and mountain views. From Kigali, the drive takes around two and a half hours, so the property fits neatly into most Rwanda itineraries.

Rooms

Virunga Inn offers a range of room types for solo travelers, couples, and families: Single, Double, and Twin Deluxe Rooms, Superior King Rooms, and spacious Family Rooms with interconnecting doors. Every room is non-smoking and includes a private bathroom, comfortable beds, Wi-Fi, and modern decor. Couples often prefer the Superior King for the extra space, while connected rooms make family stays easy. With 30 rooms in total, the atmosphere stays calm and personal.

Amenities

Meals are served on a full-board basis, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Buffets rotate through Middle Eastern, Asian, Chinese, local Rwandan, and continental themes, and when the weather allows, dinner sometimes moves to the gardens for a barbecue. Soft drinks, juices, tea, and coffee are included, with alcoholic drinks available at extra cost. Guests also enjoy a complimentary gym, Wi-Fi, and evening cultural dance shows in the garden, plus optional extras such as massages, laundry, and excursions.

Good to Know

Check-in is between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, and check-out is between 10:00 am and 11:00 am. Late check-out until 6:00 pm is charged at 50% of the room rate, and after 6:00 pm a full night applies. Children under 3 stay free when sharing with adults.
