Akagera Game Lodge

Akagera Game Lodge is set within the Akagera National Park (ANP) in the Eastern Province of Rwanda, on the border of Tanzania. This Akagera Game Lodge is one of the tree accommodations in this Big 5 park in Rwanda; it is Central Africa’s largest protected wetland and the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda. When staying in the Akagera Game lodge, you feel comfortable inside the Savannah forest. Akagera National Park is characterised by swamps, lakes, open savannahs and woodlands. The park is home to more than 482 bird species such as the rare Shoebill Stork and over 12 000 large mammals including zebras, giraffes, lions, black rhinos, and elephants.

Crucial to the park’s ecosystem is the vast Lake Ihema which is home to hippos and crocodiles. Vigourous law enforcement has seen a drastic reduction in poaching and prospering wildlife since 2010.

Akagera Game Lodge stands on a hill at the southern tip of the Akagera National Park elevated above the savannah with exceptional views of the forest-fringed Lake Ihema, with a big swimming pool perched on the edge of the savannah.

The Lodge is located on the shores of the forest fringed Lake Ihema hence offering beautiful views the Lake.

It has a large and very clean swimming pool that is hovering at the rim of the wide savanna. It also offers a splendid relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quiet gateway, a conference, as well as an uninterrupted wildlife encounter.

Restaurant, and bar, Akagera Game Lodge is the perfect home base while conferencing or exploring the conservation treasures of Akagera National Park. With 60 rooms, a conference centre, Akagera game lodge has variety of rooms that is Singles, Doubles and Twin rooms. Each of rooms has its private Verandah that offers breathtaking views. Guests can enjoy the beautiful sights of the sun setting over the distant horizon, in the comfort of their rooms. Akagera Game Lodge rooms are beautifully decorated with an African style touch and each room has beds, satellite TV, a desk and chair.

The paths to the rooms are well lit consequently enabling the guests to easily walk to their rooms at night.
