They handled every detail of our itinerary, including safaris and gorilla trekking, with precision and care. Jules was wonderful from day one. And Lucien, our driver, was an absolute standout. A truly five-star company in every sense.

I told Réginal I only had eight days because of work constraints but he made sure I had wonderful activities every day. The highlight was the gorillas. I was traveling solo and I have never felt safer.
Kirsten C. United States · 8 Days Rwanda Adventure Safari with Gorilla Trekking
Rwanda Eco Company and Safaris did an amazing job of organizing our tour. Golden monkey and gorilla hikes, coffee plantation tour, canoeing on the Mukungwa river, a stay by Lake Kivu. The trip turned out even better than I expected.

Good questions

Answered before you ask

How much does a Rwanda gorilla permit cost?
A Rwanda gorilla trekking permit is currently $1,500 per person and is required to enter Volcanoes National Park. Permit pricing is set by the Rwanda Development Board and can change. We secure your permit in advance and fold it into your itinerary pricing, so there is nothing for you to chase down.
When is the best time to go gorilla trekking in Rwanda?
Trekking runs year-round and the gorillas are always there. The long dry seasons, June to September and December to February, give firmer trails and easier hiking. The wetter months are quieter on the mountain and often better value. Tell us your dates and we will be straight with you about the trade-offs.
How difficult is the trek?
Moderate to strenuous, depending on where your assigned gorilla family has moved that day. It can be two hours or most of a day, hiking at altitude on uneven ground. Porters are available to carry your bag and help on the steep sections, and we match you to a family whose likely trek suits your fitness.
Is Rwanda safe for American travelers?
Yes. Rwanda is consistently ranked among the safest countries in Africa, Kigali is a modern capital with excellent infrastructure, and visas are issued on arrival for most nationalities. You will have a private driver-guide with you throughout and a direct line to our team.
How does payment work?
Planning is free and there is no payment to get an itinerary. Once you are happy with the plan, a deposit secures your permits and lodges, and the balance is due before travel. We will lay out the exact schedule in writing before you commit to anything.
How far ahead should I book?
For the June to September peak, six to twelve months is sensible because permit availability for specific dates is limited. Shorter notice is often still workable, particularly outside peak season. Send us your dates and we will tell you honestly what is still open.
