Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest of Uganda’s savanna parks but one of the most accessible, lying close to the main road between Kampala and the gorilla parks of the southwest.
Lake Mburo is the only Ugandan park where you can reliably see impala and large herds of zebra, and one of the few where walking safaris and horseback safaris are permitted, offering a more intimate experience than a standard game drive.
Boat trips on Lake Mburo bring you close to hippos, crocodiles, and a rich variety of waterbirds, part of the park’s tally of more than 350 species.
Lake Mburo is around three to four hours by road from Kampala, making it a convenient first or last stop on a longer Uganda itinerary.
