The Lemosho Route: A Scenic and Well-Paced Path to Kilimanjaro’s Summit. Lemosho Route is widely regarded as one of the most picturesque and rewarding routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. It offers a well-paced itinerary, ideal for climbers who prefer to take their time reaching the summit. This route is particularly well-suited for acclimatization, as evidenced by our higher summit success rates. We begin the journey at Lemosho Gate, slightly lower in elevation, and spend our first night at the tranquil Big Tree Camp. Following this path, you will enjoy a more gradual ascent compared to the Rongai Route, allowing you to fully experience the breathtaking sunrise over Mawenzi before making your final push to the summit of Uhuru Peak. It also approaches from the lush western side of the mountain. However, it avoids some of the busier campsites and trails. This route also allows additional time for acclimatization, making it an excellent choice for those who wish to increase their chances of a successful summit.
