Day 1: Kigali International Airport to Volcanoes National Park.
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport in the morning, you will meet your dedicated Driver Guide and visit the Genocide Mausoleum. Day 2: Full Day at Volcanoes National Park-Mountain Gorilla.
As the first light of dawn breaks through the curtain of mist clinging to the summits of Karisimbi, Bisoke, Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura, we make your way into the Volcanoes National Park. Tracking the gorillas through the unique vegetation can take several hours of challenging walking in wet and muddy conditions. To see a gorilla, the trek will have been worth the hardship. Day 3: Volcanoes to Lake Kivu.
After breakfast, trekking to the Dian Fossey Tomb, this is the one of the most sought after safari activities carried out while visiting Volcanoes National Park for a gorilla trip. The trekking involves a 30 minutes drive from the park headquarters to the trail head to access the Karisoke research camp where visitors walk for 10 minutes to the park boundary. The walk from the park boundary to the research center where the Dian’s grave is, takes about an hour to 1 hour and a half hours and affords good views of forest hogs, forest elephants, a variety of primates and bird species. Day 6: Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo national Park via the second largest city in Uganda “Mbarara City” having scenic views of the Kabale hills. Mburo the smallest park in Uganda, however one of the interesting parks with zebras, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, impalas, topi etc. and a great park for bird watchers.
